I purchased these J Brand jeans in a size 29 in the wash Bluebird, because bluebird. Do not question my logic. The rise is 9.5-10 inches and the inseam is 28 inches. Now then, I buy most of my jeans in a size 29 (for example in Joe's jeans). So I ordered a 29 in these....however these are noticeably smaller. At first I thought they wouldn't fit, but the material is stretchy so I squeezed myself in.Mind you, I personally have no prob with tight jeans, as long as I can squeeze into them, there are techniques one can utilize to get them to stretch out a bit so I will just do that instead of return for a size up.But I did want others to know that if you want these to fit like your usual size, you will probably want to size up. And that would give you a very fitted look. Maybe even go up two sizes If you prefer a more relaxed look. Now as for the denim, it is a midnight blue, almost black. I love the color! The material feels somewhat stiff, it's not super soft like Joe's. But I hope that after wash and wear these will soften up and stretch out. I will definitely update my review when that happens. :)Currently they feel super tight but that does not determine their quality. At the end of the day you get a high quality jean, it's just the sizing that you need to be careful on.I am 5'1, 115 pounds, and these jeans fit great. They are a little too long to wear with a flat shoe, but with heals, or even a shoe with a small lift/wedge, the length is fine. The material is pretty thin and you can see your underwear (only if you look, but I am very self conscious) , however, most of my shirts fall low, so its not a much of a problem. The material is soft, but looks a bit off. I tried to take a picture to explain what I mean, but I can't get close enough, considering I am trying to describe a tiny thread pattern. With that being said, the thread pattern seams a bit off, which may explain the discount on these jeans. The pattern is not perfect, but not horrible either. I am keeping these jeans, but if I would have paid retail, I would definitely return them. These jeans fit me good. I am skinny and can’t find jeans this soft to fit. They are very comfortableI did not follow the suggestions to size up and went with my regular JBrand size (28), although 29 might have worked as well. The fit is nearly identical to the former mid-rise Rail, which I loved and which were discontinued several years ago. The color is similar to Atlantis, but the stitching contrast is not as sharp. If it helps I am 5'8 and 128 lbs - smaller waist (25.5) but overall athletic build and prominent quads and a backside (36.5-37). These look gorgeous.Great fit except for the top of the zipper which shows when on the body.I love J Brand and have purchased 6 pairs within the past couple of years. This was the first time a size 28 didn’t fit. Tight around the waist, hips, and thighs, showing every crease in detail, but lose around the ankles. These aren’t skinny jeans, just a smaller cut upstairs. Maybe the white just shows everything more, but either way, I returned and will try the Maria in white, which fit great in their black.Fit greatHigh quality jeans; perhaps the style a bit snug for my liking.
